So, this practice of writing multiple posts in one day will likely not continue. I have a tendency to dive into things, then jump out quickly — ask anyone that knows me. It is not my intent to be that way. I’m convinced that every new initiative will forever alter the course of my life. I didn’t know what living was until I started doing x, y, z.

It frustrates friends and family alike when I go from hot to cold on a new interest in a matter of days. Hey – it frustrates me too.

Some would call this an issue of discipline and committment. I can’t say I disagree. The only things I have truly been successful at in life are things that I was forced to do for an extended period of time. I was a good Bible Quizzer. Why? My parents would not let me quit once I committed myself to being part of the team. Once I got older, I wasn’t as good, because I didn’t have the pressure. I feel I’m good at my job — very good at it. But, I know that if it wasn’t paying the bills, I’d have gotten bored with graphics long ago. That’s not to say that I don’t enjoy aspects of what I do. It’s just that I managed to perservere through periods when I truly lacked interest – mainly out of necessity.

I have found ways to cope with this issue on the job. I am always that one finding new gadgets, new software, and new ways of doing things that are probably just fine the way they are. But it fills a need that I have.

Outside of my job, I haven’t found the solution. There are a few things that I really enjoy doing — such as writing for church productions, but if it wasn’t for people relying on me once I promised to do something, I would never get anything done. I also really like bike riding, playing guitar, martial arts, etc ad naseum. But, so far, no one is making me do any of those things.

This blog is me trying again. If or when the posting stops, you’ll know what happened.
