Half Write

I really don’t like traveling much. I’m not sure why. It makes me anxious. There is something about being home and having the freedom to follow my routine, or break my routine — or start a new routine. I’m near all of the convenient things that I like to do. I go to my usual hangouts and see my usual friends. Everyone knows me at my Starbucks, and I know that when I go to Simon’s Sushi, I’ll have my chopsticks waiting for me along with a fresh iced tea. It’s home.

But, over the last month, I have traveled more than usual for work. And other than missing my wife and little girl, it really hasn’t been too bad. I’m heading back down to Houston (ish) on Monday, and I am not dreading it like I typically would. Maybe it’s because I like the people I am working with down there, or maybe it’s because I get to drive my car and that makes it feel a little more like home.

So, there you go. Jumped out of my comfort zone a little in March, and I’m not griping about it.

So what. As a graphic designer, I know I should put some effort into the visual design of this blog. But, I don’t want to. Consider this my anti-design rebellion. Black text on white paper. Easy. Clean. Tidy.

Gimme a break. I did a fancy one for my business blog.
